Build on your trip to see Much Ado About Nothing in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre with supporting events and pre-show workshops.
Key Stage 3 School Open Day
School groups can take part in a range of activities and experiences throughout the day, including an on-stage session with members of the company and a practical workshop.
The day begins with an Insight - an interactive, pre-show session where students are invited to join members of the acting company and creative teams in the theatre to explore how our productions are brought to life on stage. This is followed by a one hour workshop in the Clore Learning Centre.
In the afternoon, schools can see the matinee performance of Much Ado About Nothing.
Perfect for Key Stage 3 groups, with an in-depth focus on key scenes between Beatrice and Benedick.

Active two-hour workshops with an RSC practitioner in our Clore Learning Centre. These workshops can be tailored to your students and their current knowledge and experience of the play. You can book a workshop as an individual event or as part of your trip to see Much Ado About Nothing.

Much Ado about Nothing is classified as one of Shakespeare’s comedies and focuses on the stories of two couples: Claudio and Hero and Beatrice and Benedick.
For young people of all ages, there is so much to interest them in this text. As well as being a great opportunity to look at comic conventions and the different roles of the female characters, there are lots of themes you can use as routes into the text including:
- Appearance and Reality
- Family honour
- Revenge
