Our festival of plays by contemporary writers as well as talks and events at The Other Place, Stratford-upon-Avon.

Mischief Festivals run at The Other Place, Stratford-upon-Avon and focus on works by contemporary writers shown in an intimate and versatile space.

Our Mischief Festivals are inspired by the original ethos and spirit of The Other Place under the visionary leadership of founding director Buzz Goodbody.

The Other Place began life as a tin shed in 1974 and developed a distinguished reputation as a place for invention, learning and experimentation, and a home for our new work. Today the building is our creative hub for learning, research and development with a cafe bar, rehearsal rooms and a 200-seat studio theatre. Find out more about the history of The Other Place.

Mischief festival 2022

The Other Place will reopen to the public in September for the first time since the start of the pandemic with our Mischief festival 2022, featuring two exciting new plays: O, Island! and Ivy Tiller: Vicar's Daughter, Squirrel Killer.

This double bill of strikingly funny new writing explores how absurd our behaviour can become when our lives and communities are turned upside down.
