The RSC is part of a three-year partnership with The British School in Tokyo in Japan.
The Partnership
This exciting collaboration aims to enrich both students’ and teachers’ practice through innovative workshops, professional development programmes and performances. The programme is artist and teacher-led, with a strong emphasis on teachers' professional development and student engagement.
The partnership began with an Artist Residency in Tokyo in November 2024. Led by three RSC Associate Learning Practitioners, teachers and students took part in a comprehensive five-day workshop series across BST Primary and Secondary schools. Using techniques developed in the RSC Rehearsal Room, teachers and students gained the skills to analyse and explore Shakespeare's texts with confidence and creativity.
