Technical FAQs

• What technology do I need to take part?

  You can enjoy our online performances and events on a PC, laptop, tablet or a smartphone. 

  If you are using the Vimeo on a phone and have difficulties watching the performance you can try the following:

  • Refreshing your screen
  • Accessing the stream on a different device 
  • Typing the full web link address into the address bar of the web browser for your device 

• Do I need a Vimeo account?

  You don’t need a Vimeo account to watch our live or pre-recorded events. Click the link on the page and this should take you directly to the event.  
  

• What do I do if I miss some, or all, of a session? Can I watch the event again?

  You can watch from the point that you join the event. It’s not possible to rewind, pause or catch-up during a live event.   

  Some of our Summer School events will be available to watch again as recordings. Recordings will be added to the hub pages as soon as they are available and will be available on demand until 5pm on 15 Sep.

• I can't hear anything.

  Check your device isn’t muted or has the volume turned down. This is a common issue when you start watching a live event on Vimeo.

  You can also try pressing 'refresh' on your browser. 

• What is the best browser to use?

  We recommend the following browsers when trying to watch or browse on Vimeo:

• One of the links isn't working. What do I do?

  Please be aware that although you will be sent access to the webpage before the Summer School starts, some of the links to the individual sessions will only work at specific times. Try refreshing your page. 

• My video keeps buffering. What can I do?

  If other people are using the internet on your home network when you try to access the Summer School films, it may result in the videos buffering or a loss of picture/sound quality. Try to avoid having multiple tabs open or using the internet on other devices while following the sessions.

• I'm still having trouble - what do I do?

  If there is a problem with your individual device, we may not be able to assist. However, please contact us at summer@rsc.org.uk and we will do our best to help.
